The significance of this product is its minimal impact on the environment. The raw material, bamboo trees, grows in most regions of the world with a very short growing season. A mature bamboo forest can be harvested within 5 years, compared to 50+ years for traditional hardwood flooring. This flooring is more stable, harder, and more durable than traditional oak flooring. Plyboo is constructed by laminating three layers of bamboo-veneer together under high pressure. Plyboo comes in lengths of 2,3 and 6 feet, 3 5/8" wide, and 5/8" thick. Plyboo comes in both a natural and amber color. Plyboo is tongue and groove, and can be either nailed down or floated over an existing concrete slab, or plywood sub-floor. 2) International Wood Products, Inc. (100% Recycled Flooring) P.O. I.W.P.I. is one of the only companies in the world to offer both a laminated and solid line of vintage wood flooring, in Antique Pine, Oak, and Chestnut. Both flooring types, in all species, come in both an unfinished, and pre-finished with tung oil line. The custom 7-ply laminated line comes in random lengths, 3"-5"-7" widths, and 5/8" thick. The solid flooring comes in random lengths, 2 ½"-7", and ¾" thick. I.W.P.I. also has a "Cobbled Wood Endblock" line of recycled wood flooring made from large recycled timbers, cut widthwise to give a brick like appearance with an interesting end grain pattern. The Cobbled Wood is available in Heartpine, Chestnut and Oak, and comes in a ¾" or 5/8" thickness. Sizes range from 4"x4" to 2"x6". The wood blocks are laid in mastic and liquid cork filler, supplied by manufacturer, is troweled into the grout lines. Sanding and finishing of the Cobbled Wood floor is the same as normal unfinished hardwood flooring.
